Application

  1. Eligibility
    Applicants for the Competition shall be ensembles of musicians of any nationality, whose members were born between May 18, 1975 and May 17, 1995.
    Applicants for the Festa shall be ensembles of musicians of any nationality and any age.


  2. Duplicate Application
    An ensemble may apply to only one category: Section ‡T, Section ‡U or the Festa.
    Duplicate applications of any musician, even for a different category, will not be accepted.

  3. Reapplication
    Any ensemble that has previously won the first or gold prize in the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition or Festa cannot apply for the same category.

  4. Documents
    Ensembles applying to this Competition or Festa should fill out the application form (on 27-28 pages) in English, French, or Japanese in block or typed letters, and send it to the Secretariat, together with their CD,DVD or MD (mini disc) (hereinafter referred to as grecordingh), and the following reference materials:

    [1] A photo of each musician, taken within the past 3 months (monochrome or color; size:
    3.5 x 4.5 cm); with the musician s name on the reverse side of the photo.
    [2] A rectangular group photo of the ensemble, preferably with instruments
    [3] A copy (or photocopy) of official documentation for each member's birth date, such as passport.
    [4] A recording of a performance of the ensemble must be made on or after April 1, 2010 as specified below:
    Ensembles applying for the Competition must record one complete work each for the 1st and 2nd rounds respectively.
    Ensembles applying for the Festa must record the works of their choice that will be performed at the Preliminary Round. (no more than 3 works)
    [5] To certify that the submitted recording contains the performances of the applying ensemble, the signature and the title of a credited musician (other than the applying musicians) must be entered in the section for gCertification of Recordingh on the application form.
    [6] Newspaper articles, programs, or any other reference materials showing the applying ensemble s musical activities, such as participation in competitions or concerts, should be enclosed with the application form, if available. (Photocopied materials are acceptable.)
    Note: Submitted recordings and other materials will not be returned.
