Prizes and Concert Tours

  1. Prizes for the Competition
    The following prizes will be awarded to the winners of Section ‡T and ‡U.

    First prize Certificate of Commendation, 3,000,000 yen
    Second prize Certificate of Commendation, 1,500,000 yen
    Third prize Certificate of Commendation, 1,000,000 yen

  2. Prizes for the Festa
    The following prizes will be awarded to the best three ensembles in the Festa.

    Menuhin Gold Prize* Certificate of Commendation, 2,000,000 yen
    Silver Prize Certificate of Commendation, 1,000,000 yen
    Bronze Prize Certificate of Commendation, 600,000 yen

    *To honor Lord Yehudi Menuhin, who served as Honorary Artistic Director from the first to the third Competition & Festa and suggested the idea of Chamber Music Festa, and to remember his achievements, the Organizer began, from the third Festa in 1999 on, to grant the "Menuhin Gold Prize" to the best ensemble participating in the Festa.

    The "Folkloric Music Special Prize" (300,000 yen of prize money) will be awarded to an ensemble that has participated in the Final Round of the Festa, and which has presented the best performance of traditional/ethnic music.

  3. Taxation
    The above awards are subject to taxation as stipulated by Japanese tax laws, and will be paid in Japanese yen.

  4. Prizewinners' Concert
    The prizewinners of each section of the Competition and the Festa must perform without compensation at the Concert to be held at Izumi Hall on May 25, 2011.

  5. Concert Tours
    As part of the prize, the Organizer will invite the first place winners of the respective sections and of the Festa to perform in a concert tour about three weeks (called Grand Prix Concerts). They shall give several concerts to be held in various Japanese cities on the following schedule. The performances for tour shall be remunerated.
